The Director of the International Health Office at the Ras Ajdir border crossing with Tunisia, Mukhtar Al-Mansouri, confirmed that Coronavirus infections are being recorded daily amongst travellers.

Al-Mansouri explained in a press statement that the border crossing will be partially closed to travellers, allowing only patients suffering from other dangerous diseases to be permitted to leave Libya by ambulance, as he put it.

He added that there were no laboratories in the area, indicating that infections were recorded amongst the workers at the Ras Ajdir border due to direct contact with infected travellers.
