The Sirte Municipal Council spokesman, Mohamed Al-Ameel, said that an Indian technical team arrived at the Sirte steam power plant, pointing out that the team’s task in the initial phase is to assess the needs of the second turbine, which has experienced a stand-still since 2014, to begin its maintenance work, which will take approximately six months to complete.

Al-Ameel added in a press statement on Tuesday that the maintenance of the first unit was completed two years ago and they are awaiting the operational program for it to arrive from the Japanese Mitsubishi Company, which is expected to be delivered soon, expecting that its addition to the public grid will add more than 300 megawatts.
