The Libyan authorities initiate the evacuation of its citizens from Ethiopian soil, as part of the protective measures of the authorities following the deterioration of the state of security within the African country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the decision to reduce the number of workers at the Libyan embassy in Addis Ababa to a minimum, whilst providing a special aircraft to evacuate the remainder of the embassy’s personnel, in the event of any dangerous emergency situation.

In a statement, the ministry expressed the concerns of the Libyan authorities regarding the territorial integrity of Ethiopia, due to the instability in the security situation within the country, particularly in the northern regions.
