Libyan Coast Guard rescued Wednesday 138 migrants off the coast of Garabulli town, including four women, while on board a rubber boat that crashed and nearly drowned.

The Coast Guard said that all migrants, most of whom were from the Maghreb and a few African nationalities, were rescued and transported to the Tripoli naval base.

They were provided medical and humanitarian and then sent to Tajoura shelter.

The rescue operation comes a day after Libyan Coast Guard rescued 121 illegal immigrants off Garabulli.
