A number of displaced people from Jafara and Wershiffana regions, western Tripoli, held a protest on Wednesday in front of the headquarters of the Presidential Council, demanding the Presidential Council to consider their dire situations and enable them to return to their homes.

The protesters raised slogans demanding compensations, considering that the armed groups that displaced them and dispossessed their properties are the same groups which are present today in the region.

The protesters also stressed that securing their areas and protection for them are at the forefront of their demands.

It is worth noting that a number of families from these two regions have been displaced for the past two years after armed groups known as the “Tribal Army” returned to these regions as per an agreement reached with Misrata’s 301 Brigade, a.k.a Halboos Brigade, which granted them safe return.
