Italian press sources have predicted that the International Criminal Court (ICC) may issue arrest warrants for Libyans involved in human trafficking operations in Libya.

"The ICC is in the process of issuing arrest warrants for those accused after gathering evidence from immigration detention centres in Libya pertaining human trafficking, torture, and violence charges," Italian Aki news agency has reported.

The ICC Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, noted last Wednesday to the UN Security Council that her team is working to collect and analyze evidence regarding the alleged crimes committed in migration detention centres in Libya.
