The Libyan Crimes Watch has accused the Security Directorate of Al-Marj town in eastern Libya, led by ‘Wehbi Al-Rakh’, of using live ammunition to disperse demonstrators on Saturday night, leading to a number of injuries.

In a statement, the human rights group, specialized in monitoring crimes, condemned the use of excessive force against the protesters, calling for an urgent investigation into the accountability of those responsible for such actions.

The citizens of Al-Marj town held demonstrations in protest against the deteriorating economic and basic living conditions, the lack of essential services and apparent rampant corruption of those in positions of authority.
