The House of Representatives (HoR) has suspended nine MPs from Parliament, including former Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord, Fayez Sarraj, and Fathi Bashagha, appointed as PM by the HoR last February, besides his deputy, Ali Al-Qatrani.

According to the first article of Resolution No. 7 of 2022, the suspended deputies included Saleh Himma, Muhammad Lino, Abdul Muttalib Thabet, Abu Bakr Saeed, Ziad Daghim, and Abdul Ghani Al Futaisi.

The HoR says the nine members performed executive tasks contrary to the membership terms and conditions of the Parliament's internal system and is considered a breach of their national duties.

In a session in mid-September, the House of Representatives decided to exempt the deputies who held jobs in the state from its membership and to accept the resignation of the deputies who had submitted their resignations in earlier times.
