The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Aqila Saleh said Monday that it is unacceptable for the UN-backed Libyan National Conference to replace the HoR because it will be considered as a "coup against legitimacy".

In an interview with an Emirati newspaper, Salah said that the leaks about the conference so far prove its failure, expressing his objection to attend the conference before knowing its agenda.

He also accused UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame of partiality and bias, adding that Salame supports the Presidential Council's head, Fayez Al-Sarraj.

Salah reaffirmed that they are moving forward with plans to reconstruct the Presidential Council despite the objection of the High Council of State.
