The Tobruk-based Parliament announced that it had completed its deliberations on the constitutional referendum law in the meeting held Monday in the presence of more than 70 MPs.

The Spokesman for the HoR Abdullah Balihak revealed in a press statement that the vote on the referendum will take place on July 30.

For his part, the head of the Constitution Drafting Assembly, Nuh Abdel Sayed Al-Maghrabi, welcomed the announcement and the setting of the voting date, describing it as a significant step for the Libyan people to ensure free self-determination by voting yes or no.

In July of 2017, the Constitution Drafting Assembly submitted the draft constitution to the House of Representatives to issue the referendum law.
