The member of the House of Representatives (HoR) Abdulghani Al-Fetisi, who represents Zliten, has resigned citing disrespect for constitutional texts and bylaws of the HoR by the presidency.

Al-Fetisi accused on Saturday the HoR presidency of unilateral decision-making in line with the continued closure of constitutional circuit court at the Supreme Court.

He said he resigned in respect of the will of 2.8 million voters who are awaiting the election of new legislative authority, adding that his decision came after consulting with his area voters.

“There's remarkable negligence in the work of the HoR. When I joined the HoR while it convened in Tripoli, I made a reaction against the war at the time against the capital in April 2019.” He said.
