The crisis follow-up committee of the Tripoli-based Parliament agreed with the Audit Bureau and the Chairman and CEO of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) to develop a plan to end the electricity crisis.

The committee reiterated in its meeting on Wednesday, commitment to support the company financially, in order to supply spare parts and periodic maintenance, as well as providing drifting units to cover the network deficit.

It also stressed the need to resume operations at Al-Khoms station with a capacity of (500 megawatts) and Ubari station with a capacity of (600 megawatts) as soon as possible.
