The head of the Illegal Immigration Agency in Sabratha, Basim Gharabli, stated that more than 10,000 illegal immigrants were arrested over the short past period.

Gharabli added that more than 9,200 of the immigrants in custody were transferred to shelters in Gharyan and Zuwara.

Gharabli was quoted as saying that the large number of migrants arrested is creating difficulties in providing them with their due care, despite efforts made by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UNHCR and a number of other local organizations.
