The National Center for Disease Control has reassured citizens that there has been no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Libya, until now.

The Center said in a statement that its rapid monitoring and response department has taken all necessary measures and raised the degree of preparedness to deal with any suspected cases through the early warning system, noting that the National Monitoring Network covers most hospitals and health facilities in all municipalities.

It explained that the situation at present does not constitute a threat to public health, indicating that it is premature to consider this disease a public health emergency that requires an international alert.
