The media adviser of the Health Ministry, Amin Al-Hashemi, said Monday that the ministry contacted the Philippines in September more than once on the decision concerning preventing the Filipino workers from travelling to Libya, but up to date has received no official response on the matter.

Al-Hashemi said in a press statement that the Filipino workers have left Libya since the issuance of the resolution, which in turns had its impact on the health sector, noting that the ministry is seeking alternatives from other countries.

The Department of Labor and Employment of the Philippines said Thursday that it’s in the process to approve a resolution imposing a total deployment ban to Libya due to what it called “the escalation of violence.”
