The National Centre for Disease Control said it had begun distributing the drug Glucantime for treating leishmaniasis.

The shipment of leishmania treatment was received from the World Health Organization (WHO) after approved by the Food and Medicine Control Centre on Sunday, the National Centre for Disease Control clarified on Facebook, confirming that it had already delivered doses of the treatment to the referral clinic for leishmaniasis disease, the National Center for Disease Control in Tripoli, and the dermatological clinic of Jaraba General Hospital.

The distribution process will continue to all related clinics in the region, the centre added.
