The head of the steering council of the Municipality of Tobruk, Faraj Boukhatabia declared the state of emergency in the city, due to the lack of water.

"The desalination plant in the city has been affected by the lack of spare parts, in addition, the water company is experiencing poor management and chaos," Boukhatabia explained.

He also noted that it was agreed to form a delegation from the Shura and the Elders Councils to communicate with the officials of the interim government and the House of Representatives (HoR), in order to clear up the municipality's responsibility towards this suffocating crisis.
