The head of Libya's Reconciliation Council, Mohammed Mubashir, has stressed the need to agree on a code of honour between all political parties in Libya and to proceed with the referendum on the constitution before any elections are held in the country.

Mubashir said in a statement to the London-based Asharq al-Awsat newspaper that the Libyan Reconciliation Council plays a supportive role for the disputing parties, and strives to remove all obstacles in the way of returning all displaced persons to their cities in peace.

He added that “this role requires us to always be a conduit for real reconciliation between Tawergha and Misrata, or any other disputing parties.”
