The head of the Price Balancing Fund (PBF) Jamal al-Shaibani said that they were unable to supply foodstuffs for the holy month of Ramadan after a statement issued by the Presidential Council in which it gave import permits of 13 kinds of foodstuffs worth 450 million US dollars to private companies.

Al-Shaibani told Libyan News Agency that the PBF was unable to import any goods or foodstuffs in preparation for the month of Ramadan, pointing out that since October 2017 no bank credits have been granted by the Central Bank of Libya to the PSF.

He accused the Central Bank of failing to open credits to the PBF while granting it to other private companies, expressing his regret for what he called the refusal of the Central Bank of Libya to cooperate with the PSF in the provision of food.
