The Information Office of the High Council of State (HCS) reported that the Minister of Defense, Mehdi Barghathi, briefed the head of the HCS, Abdulrahman Sweihli, on the latest developments in efforts to unify the Libyan army during their meeting at the headquarters of the HCS in the capital Tripoli on Tuesday.
The two also discussed the topics of the most important obstacles and challenges facing the work of the Ministry of Defense and the military institution, and ways to overcome them.
The Information Office added that Barghathi stressed the need to involve all Libyan army officers from the west, east and south without exception in efforts to unify the Libyan army under the umbrella of the United Nations and away from individual initiatives.
