The current Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Abdelrahman Al-Sweihli, has been re-elected in his position for the second term after he got a majority of 66 votes against his opponent, Abdelsalam Ghweila, who got 23 votes.
 
Al-Sweihli was re-elected on Wednesday in a live-aired election event held in Tripoli in the presence of the HCS members.
 

Mohamed Bigai was elected as first deputy president with 58 votes.
