Member of the High Council of State (HCS) Idriss Boufayed described the leaked demands of the HCS presented to the security meeting at the Palermo Conference as irresponsible, insisting that they constitute a violation of national sovereignty.

Boufayed explained in a press statement that the request of the HCS's delegation in respect to form a board to manage the south region touches on a purely internal affair, in addition to the fact that it was not made available to the council's members before heading to Palermo.

The request of the HCS delegation provides to form a council consisting of the political actors emanating from the Skhirat agreement to manage the southern region, in addition to the unification of the military institution and the implementation of the security arrangements provided for in the political agreement.
