Member of the High Council of State, Mohammed Emazeb, said that negotiations with the House of Representatives are under threat of suspension if the latter insists on electing a temporary president for the country before completing the terms of the political agreement.

In a press statement, Emazeb added that President of the High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, agreed during their last meeting in Morocco to resume negotiations on developing mechanisms for the stages that would lead to presidential elections; after unifying the institutions and formatting a provisional government and presidential council.

He pointed out that Saleh seems to have walked away from the agreement after his return to Tobruk.
