Member of the High Council of State (HCS), Idriss Boufayed, said that any informal meetings between members of the HCS and the House of Representatives (HoR) to select a new governor for the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) are individual efforts that will not bear fruit.

"The HCS insists that the designation of the new CBL governor must be through a meeting between the dialogue committees of the HCS and HoR and that the new governor must obtain 120 votes, which is unlikely to happen," Boufayed said in a press statement.

He also pointed out that consensus can only be achieved through the National Conference, which must be binding on the two Houses.
