The member of the High Council of State (HCS) Mohammad Muazab, said that statements made by House of Representatives member Abdul Salam Nassia regarding holding the elections at the end of next year have nothing to do with the agreement set out between the two parties in Libya.

In a statement to the Russian news agency Sputnik, Muazab explained that the date of the elections will be determined during the upcoming national conference in early 2019, saying that the arrangements now under way; will depend on the consensus reached in the meeting.

"In the case of a "yeah" vote on the draft constitution, the presidential and parliamentary elections will be held no later than the end of 2019," Parliament member Abdulsalam Nassia, said in an early statement to Sputnik.
