The High Council of State (HCS) denounced on Friday, the recent statements of the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, describing it as a "deliberate distortion of government institutions".

In a statement, the HCS demanded Ghassan Salame for more openness and clarity and to substantiate his allegations or make an apology.

"Such statements are not a legal course to combat corruption; instead, it's an insult to the national honourable officials and intends to erode public confidence in them," HCS stated.
