The head of the committee to amend the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) in the High Council of State (HCS), Musa Faraj, said he will hold meetings with members of the HCS on Sunday to reach a final formula on the mechanism for the selection of the new Presidential Council.

Faraj revealed, in a statement to the Italian news agency AKI, that there will be another meeting next weekend between the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, and the head of the committee to amend the LPA in the House of Representatives, Abdul-Salam Nasia, to discuss the appropriate formula that should satisfy both parties on how to choose the Presidential Council.

Faraj stated that the meeting of last Thursday with Salame and Nasia discussed the mechanism of choosing the Presidential Council because it was the point where members of the two dialogue committees stopped in Tunisia, after the House of Representatives was previously determined to choose the Presidential Council unilaterally, while the HCS demands their participation in the process.
