The High Council of State (HCS) has denounced the statement of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, saying it included a mistaken interpretation of the decision issued by the League’s council regarding the rejection of foreign interference in Libya, where he restricted it to non-Arab interventions.

"The repeated violations of the General Secretariat of the Arab League proves beyond any doubt, that the secretariat has become a department of the Egyptian foreign ministry," HCS stated.

The council noted that the apparent bias of the General Secretariat and its loss of neutrality renders Egypt's ineligible to be a host, as its presence in Egypt makes it incapable of playing any positive role towards the member states.
