The High Council of State (HCS) has condemned the abduction of HCS member, Mohammed Abu Ghamja by warlord Khalifa Haftar's armed groups in Qaser Bin Ghashir district, south Tripoli, on Thursday.

"The HCS had been in contact with the dignitaries of Qaser Bin Ghashir and the UN mission since his abduction, in order to secure his release, however, the kidnappers rejected all mediation efforts to do so," HCS stated Saturday.

The council reiterated its demand for the release of Abu Ghamja, unconditionally, bearing the kidnappers full responsibility for his safety and calling on the Government of National Accord (GNA) and the United Nations Mission to exert their efforts for his immediate release.
