The High Council of State (HCS) has condemned the armed clashes in the city of Sabha and called on the Presidential Council to shoulder its responsibilities and take practical steps to achieve security in the southern region, including the appointment of a commander of the southern military zone and the provision of services to the people of the South.

In a regular meeting on Monday, The HCS reviewed the three proposals it had adopted on the amendment of the political agreement and referred it to the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the House of Representatives to respond to it as soon as possible and reach a consensus on it.

The HCS also discussed the criteria for holding sovereign positions and foreign military interventions in Libya.
