The municipal council of Hay Al-Andalus said it would delay civil disobedience and strike at state institutions for 48 hours after receiving promises from the Government of National Accord to satisfy the council's demands.

"The GNA contacted the municipal council and promised to resolve the problems the residents are facing such as long-hour power cuts and terrible handling of Coronavirus spread. The GNA said that it will hold a meeting with the council to put a mechanism to fulfill their needs." The municipality said.

The municipal council said Saturday it wanted to start a civil disobedience due to bad living conditions and services, saying it would escalate things and shut down the municipality if the GNA didn't fulfill the demands, as some members said the municipal council was seeing increased Coronavirus cases.
