The son of former dictator Muammar Gaddafi, Hannibal, said the reason for his detention in Lebanon has nothing to do with the disappearance of Shia scholar Moussa Al-Sadr in Libya in 1978.

In an interview with the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, Hannibal questioned why the Lebanese authorities did not ask the Libyan officials who were in power at that time, including Abdul Salam Jaloud, about the fate of Al-Sadr.

He also requested the United Nations to send doctors in order to visit him in prison in Lebanon and submit a medical report on his condition, saying that he is suffering chest and back pains, as well as other health problems, such as dermatological problems, respiratory failure, a fractured nose, and a hematoma in his head as a result of the beating during detention.
