Hammouda Sayala re-elected as Speaker of Parliament in Tripoli for second term

Members of the House of Representatives (HoR) in Tripoli re-elected Hammouda Sayala as Speaker of Parliament for the second term, having secured thirty-seven votes, surpassing his opponent, Kamal Al-Jamal by five votes.

Parliament members elected Amer Omran as First Vice President and Mohamed Lino as Second Deputy along with Hassan Al-Furjani to the position of the rapporteur, and Fatima Souayi as his deputy.

The Council member’s election committee gave a unanimous symbolic vote to Seham Sergiwa, in absentia, respectfully in remembrance of her contribution to her great work as a representative of the government, calling once more for full disclosure of her fate.
