Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli was bombed four times Sunday by warlord Khalifa Haftar's UAE backed air force, just after five days of the joint press conference held by both ministers of transport and the interior and the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame to officially declare resumption of flights within two weeks.

Sources from the airport confirmed that one of the airstrikes targeted the end of the runway without causing any human casualties.

UN envoy Ghassan Salame has emphasized during the press conference that any new attacks on Mitiga airport would constitute a war crime, confirming that it is an entire civilian facility and free of any military manifestations.
