The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, on Monday, called on all Libyan leaders to put the interests of the Libyan people ahead of all else.

“We’re very concerned at the disputes that we’ve seen between various parties in Libya, and we very much hope that things will get back on track to hold the elections in December that the Libyan people deserve and expect.” A spokesperson for the Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric said in a press briefing on Monday.

Dujarric added that the advice of the Secretary-General to the Libyan leaders is to put the interests of the Libyan people first and foremost.
