The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, said on Monday that the international community’s commitment to ending foreign interference in Libya has not been achieved on the ground despite "the glimmer of hope" offered by the Berlin conference.

Guterres warned that interference of external powers would deepen the conflict in Libya and draw the country into greater insecurity and danger.

He stressed the need for Libyan parties to find national solutions to face internal challenges, indicating that the continued flow of weapons has further complicated the humanitarian situation in the country.
