The Man-made River Authority (MMRA) said Monday, that two gunmen forced the workers at the water pumping station in the city of Tarhuna to cease their work.
The MMRA confirmed in a statement on Monday that the gunmen closed the station completely without clarifying the reasons or to who they work for.
The MMRA explained that it is unable to secure the water supply of the cities and farms located along Al-Hasawna line, including Tripoli, calling on the competent authorities to assume their responsibilities in order to provide security and protect the main water source to the western region.
