The UAE has supplied Haftar with Chinese-made Wing Loong drones, with an estimated cost of $ 1 million to $ 2 million, the Guardian newspaper has reported.
In its report on Wednesday, the newspaper described this type of aircraft as "cheap and inexpensive".
Many civilians were killed and wounded after more than 900 raids, according to the Guardian.
It quoted informed sources that Haftar had resorted to this tactic after his failure to achieve any progress by a conventional attack, as well as to avoid further military losses on the ground.
