The governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer said Libya had lost 48 billion dollars in the last four years, telling Global Finance magazine that Libya’s revenues dropped from $53.2 billion in 2012 to just $4.6 billion in 2016.

The governor blamed the losses on the collapse of oil production since late 2013 and the subsequent drop of oil prices in the world.

He added that those conditions caused fluctuations in Libya’s economy and uncertainties in the Libyan fiscal policies.
