The Government of National Unity (GNU, stated that the Turkish company Enka has recently begun the construction of an electricity power station west of Tripoli, noting that work is currently underway to establish two further stations in Misrata and Tobruk.

The GNU added, according to its media office, that since assuming its duties, it has taken several important steps to try to fill the deficit in the electricity network, including signing contracts with foreign companies to establish power stations to fill the void.

It further indicated that it has directed the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), to try to end the frequent problem of blackouts throughout the country.
