The Minister of State for Displaced People’s Affairs of the Presidential Council (PC) Yousuf Jalala, said that the lack of reconstruction of some cities is hindering the return of displaced persons to their homes.

"The problem of non-reconstruction is continuing because the PC did not include any item on development in this year's budget," Jalala explained.

He also clarified that the approximate number of internally displaced persons has risen above 200,000 displaced persons, while the displaced people outside Libya exceeded 50,000.

Dozens of families from Tawergha have begun to return to their homes since the middle of this month despite the lack of basic services in the town.
