The Government of National Accord (GNA) noted that the statement published on its official Twitter account regarding its resignation is completely false.

The GNA posted online the text of the alleged communique on Wednesday and denied the veracity of that statement, explaining that its Twitter account had been hacked, and false statements regarding its resignation were posted.

The forged statement contained allegations of the handover of executive functions to the east-based interim government, and the security arrangements to Haftar's forces.

The fake statement was immediately picked up by Saudi and UAE-funded satellite television networks, on top of them was "Al Arabiya" channel, which was the first to broadcast this fake news.
