Ghat Municipal Council warned in a statement Wednesday, that a renewed period of rainfalls could trigger another major flooding, similar to the one that swept the city in early June, according to meteorological warnings.

"Members from Ghat Municipal Council and representatives of service sectors in the city discussed with Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC), Abdulsalam Kagman, the problems facing the municipality and the magnitude of the tragedy, following the departure of humanitarian organizations, because of the floodings," Ghat Municipal Council explained in a statement.

The General Hospital in Ghat said that it is suffering from the lack of medical and medical assistants, after the departure of international organizations and the Libyan Relief Agency, according to the PC Media Office.
