Gharyan Municipal Council has informed the city's resident that they can rest assured the situation in the city is under control after repelling the Monday attack by Haftar's forces on the city.

The air attack on the southern part of the city killed at least 8 and wounded 10 others, according to Gharyan Municipal Council.

"Haftar and his regional allies are seeking to open new axes to cause a distraction to the Libyan army in southern Tripoli," the council stated, calling on the government to assume its responsibility and expedite the provision of military support to the forces stationed in Gharyan to prevent another such mistake that led to the invasion of the city on April 4.
