The Municipal Council of Gharyan condemned the airstrike conducted by foreign aircraft loyal to Haftar, on military and civilian sites in the city, sowing terror among the citizens and destroying public and private property.

In a statement Saturday, the council called on the government to open an investigation into the incident and to reveal the names of countries still supporting Haftar and violating the Libyan sovereignty, in order to prosecute them before international courts.

"The continued airstrikes of Haftar's forces on the city is only an attempt to hide the logistical support received by his forces from specific countries to restore the military rule in Libya," the council stated.
