The Libyan High National Elections Commission (HNEC) center in Gharyan said it would reopen on Tuesday after being shut by protesters on Monday.

The reopening came after an agreement by the center officials and Gharyan security apparatuses following the closure by a group of protesters on Monday in rejection of the candidacy of some figures for presidential elections.

On Sunday, Al-Zawiya revolutionary fighters and leaders threatened to keep the electoral centers closed in the city if the elections won't be based on an agreed-upon constitutional basis, rejecting the candidacy of criminals and fugitives like Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi and Khalifa Haftar.

Likewise, the council of Misrata elders rejected in a statement holding elections in Libya without consensus on a constitutional basis for a fair elections process.
