The German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, and the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, called on Libya stakeholders that attended Berlin Conference in 2020 to participate in "Berlin II Conference" on June 23.

Maas said the conference will be held at the headquarters of the German Foreign Ministry in the presence of the Libyan Government of National Unity to assess the progress since "Berlin I Conference" that was held on January 19, 2020, and steps to achieve lasting stability in the country.

According to Maas, "Berlin II Conference" is supposed to focus on holding Libyan elections on December 24, removal of foreign forces and mercenaries as per the ceasefire agreement.
