The German Foreign Minister, Heiko Mass, confirmed his country’s total support to work towards sustainable peace in Libya, as he put it.

This came in a phone call with the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, in which they discussed certain preparations for the Berlin II Conference on Libya, which is due to be hosted by Germany on June 23.

On the same note, the German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Miguel Berger, held talks with the United Nations Envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, along with several senior officials, who are expected to participate in the Berlin II Conference, on the preparations for the event.

The meeting focused on the general elections, due to be held on December 24, and the planning for the complete withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, according to what Berger reported on his Twitter account.
