German Ambassador to Libya, Oliver Owcza confirmed that his country had provided € 3 million in support for activities of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office, enabling them to provide effective protection to refugees and displaced persons in Libya.

For its part, UNHCR expressed its appreciation to the German government for its continued support for the agency's activities in Libya.

"The generous German contribution would help to alleviate the suffering of refugees and vulnerable people and will provide them with life-saving assistance and protection," the UNHCR said.
