The governments of Germany, Italy, France and the United Kingdom welcomed the announcement of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to launch the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.

The four governments said in a joint statement on Friday that the path is now clear to take the next step in the Libyan dialogue, through the Political Dialogue Forum in Tunisia, wherein the Libyans themselves agree on the future of all state institutions and the achievement of security and peace.

They affirmed that they would support UNSMIL to establish a well-ordered transition to an institutional infrastructure for the future and to seek achievement in a positive outcome for the Forum, for this essential political dialogue in Tunisia.
